Dining Services

Ridgeview Village Culinary Services in Texas - Serving Senior Residents with Food

Quality dining is among the most important amenities in any healthcare facility. Town East Village strives to provide nutritious, healthy, and tasty meals served in an atmosphere of gracious hospitality. The key to a superior dietary program is centered on quality and variety. At Town East Village, the preparation of each meal begins with the highest quality and freshest ingredients. Although it is not possible 100% of the time, we strive to use fresh (instead of frozen or canned) fruits and vegetables for each meal. Our daily menu provides variety with multiple options at each meal including several items that are always made available. Our menus cycle over the course of several weeks and are then are completely rotated on a quarterly basis to ensure variety and to align certain meal options with the appropriate time of year.

We provide additional options for residents on restricted diets including heart healthy choices, vegetarian and gluten-free options, and sugar-free dessert options at each meal. We take a patient-centered care approach, so meals are made available when the resident wants them, not based on a regimented schedule.

We believe the social aspects of dining are critical to our residents’ overall sense of well-being. In our dining rooms we strive to provide a restaurant-like experience complete with decorated tables and background music. We also provide special themed meals for select holidays or cultural events such as the Super Bowl, Easter Brunch, Cinco De Mayo, and 4th of July.

Lamar Alcorn – Food Service Director

Lamar brings a long history of culinary experience to our leadership team here at Town East Village. He began his career as a pastry chef and has been in dining service leadership in the healthcare space for the last 7 years. Personalized recipes to tailor the flavor are part of our culture, enhancing the experience and collaborative environment between the team and the residents. Of course, desserts are a very important part of every meal at Town East Village, and Lamar and his team prepare their confections, cakes, and pies from scratch using their own recipes.

Family Involvement

You become as much a part of our family as your loved one. We believe that family members should be actively involved in planning medical care and treatment. We encourage you to participate in the development of your loved one’s care plan through regular resident conferences. We also schedule frequent follow-up meetings to keep family members informed of each resident’s progress.

We understand that caring for a loved one with a serious illness, injury or debilitating medical condition can place a tremendous strain on family members. To help families manage, we offer a range of social and counseling services. These social services help people cope with the financial and emotional issues that can arise when a loved one needs extended care that cannot be provided in the home.
